Have ever felt so excited that your body jiggled and wiggled like a hyperactive puppy without you even meaning to? Or have you ever felt so mad that you wanted to throw something or roar like a lion? Emotions can be tricky to manage. We can’t help how we feel. But just like learning to read, write or ride a bike, we can learn to show how we’re feeling in ways that are calm and clear, but not rude or hurtful. It takes practice, but everybody – kids and grown-ups, too –can learn to do it. “If you stay calm, you are wise, but if you have a hot temper, you will make foolish mistakes. Proverbs 14:29.
